Transforming a Barn For Brad and Sam

25 Sep 2019

Making magic for the big day...

One of our favourite things about any (and every) of the events we're involved in, is seeing everything come together for the big day! So when Brad and Sam approached us with their vision, we couldn't wait to see it come to life...

Brad and Sam had chosen a rustic barn to celebrate their wedding in. The barn, situated on a working farm, not only promised an enhanced rustic yet casual vibe but also provided breathtaking countryside views and was large enough to seat all of their guests whilst offering space for a bar, stage and an area for guests to dance. From the moment we heard what was planned - we were excited to get stuck into this one.

Though the barn was perfect for the rustic vibe, the couple wanted to dress it up a bit and sourced their own pipe and drape, creating a canopy-vibe inside! Our festoon lighting was hung along the roof of the barn to help add some sparkle and some atmosphere, working as a simple yet effective lighting option. Not only did we provide festoon lighting for practicality and atmosphere, but we also provided disco lights for their entertainment as well as uplighters to add washes of colour to the barn walls that worked just perfectly for photo opportunities.

For their entertainment, the couple had chosen the iconic The Rockitment to perform in the evening! However, throughout the day they asked our sound technician to play their created playlist until the live entertainment began. Our stage and sound equipment meant that everyone could enjoy the entertainment at a professional level. Our microphones meant all of the important speeches and announcements could be made at ease, with crystal clear sound. We also provided a portable PA system for their ceremony, which took place outside the barn and in a field further away, meaning everyone could enjoy the service and hear every last word!

To help enhance the rustic feel, Sam and Brad hired our light up Mr & Mrs letters, that complimented the atmosphere whilst also offering another great photo opportunity, and our haybale toppers giving their guests somewhere different to sit while the ceremony took place in the fresh air outside! But these weren't the only rustic pieces we offered that tied everything together... Our beautiful pallet bar was set up and stocked full of all their favourite drinks, with bar staff on hand to serve thirsty guests and also clean up any abandoned glasses around the bar. We also provided wait staff to deliver the food from the caterers to the guests, and also ensure all plates and cutlery were cleared away efficiently for the evening buffet to take place. We operated a 'no plastic' policy for Brad and Sam, who were very environmentally aware and asked us to recycle and use no plastic. To ensure this we offered our full supply of glassware for hire and encouraging guests to reuse their guests, whilst also cleaning and reusing any that had been collected from around the venue.

For the younger guests (and for those who wanted to play their favourite childhood games), our outdoor garden games were set up. We had large Jenga, large Connect 4 and large Dominos for guests to enjoy outside. These garden games were enjoyed by a variety of different guests and were even a favourite as it got a little darker - with many enjoying the favourites by the fire.

And to top everything off - we also provided a full set up and pack down service, with an on the day coordinator to ensure everything ran smoothly and that the farm could go back to working order as soon as possible!

A huge congratulations to Bradley and Sam, and thank you for letting us be part of your big day!
